כַּלְכִּיד

כַּלְכִּיד, כַּלְכִּידָאf. (χαλκίς, -ίδος) chalkis, a small fish resembling sardines (v. Sm. Ant. s. v.). Y.Ned.VI, 39c bot. if one says, I will taste no דָּגָה, אינו … אלא בכ׳ he is forbidden ony ch. (small fish).
